Stories that spark awareness, dialogue, and change.

Our Beginnings
In 1994, our founder Garrett Davis staged his first play, Lord Why Me, in a humble church setting in Raeford, North Carolina. We were known then as Rhema Theatre Group Ministries – a small ministry with a big vision to spark change through faith-based storytelling.
The immediate success of that first production proved that heartfelt, authentic stories about our lives could truly resonate with people, lighting a fire that propelled us forward. That early beginning laid the foundation for everything to come, guiding our mission of blending entertainment with empowerment for nearly
three decades and counting.

Changing The Narrative
Gdavis Productions is committed to changing the narrative on how health and social issues are addressed in our community. Too often, critical topics like Alzheimer’s, diabetes, or caregiving have been overlooked or met with stigma, so we tackle them head-on through relatable characters and compelling stories—
whether on stage, in digital media, short films, or documentaries.
We’ve pioneered an “info-tainment” approach that blends humor, drama, and education to engage audiences on a deeper level. By the end of each production— whether a live performance, streaming series, or filmed documentary—after thelaughter and tears, our goal is for audiences to leave not only entertained but also enlightened and empowered with resources to confront the real-life challenges depicted in our work.

A Lasting Legacy
After decades of innovation, we are proud of the lasting legacy Gdavis Productions is creating in the realm of theater, film, and social impact. Our productions have touched countless lives and garnered numerous accolades for the difference they’ve made. For example, our founder and CEO, Garrett Davis, was honored as the Alzheimer’s Association “Advocate of the Year” in 2012, and our stage play Mama’s Girls earned multiple awards for its unique portrayal of caregiving in the African American community.
As the only company to sustain this kind of mission-driven work on a national scale for so long, we’ve helped pave the way for others to use art as a tool for advocacy. More importantly, we aim to ensure the conversations we’ve sparked and the awareness we’ve raised continue to resonate, improving lives and inspiring future generations.
Part of that legacy is investing in the storytellers of tomorrow. Through our G Fellows Program, Garrett meets monthly with college students to mentor them in the practical skills of the theater, film, and radio industries. We also provide paid internships, giving students valuable hands-on experience that builds confidence, sharpens skills, and prepares them to carry forward the tradition of telling authentic
stories that matter.
